The Hobby Informer

Hi! My name is Eric and I collect cards.

I first started collecting cards at the age of 8. I still remember my first pack of 1989 Topps Football cards. I briefly collected baseball and basketball cards, but football has always remained my primary focus. I’ve collected a large variety of non-sports cards through the years as well. Everything from movie cards to gaming cards.

During my collecting journey, I’ve chased case hits, rookies, parallels, short prints, complete sets, specific teams, specific players, graded cards, artist proofs, autographs, and so much more.

At some point, my collection and hobby turned into a serious financial investment. I decided to start levering some of those assets into more cards and started selling on eBay. It turned out to be a lot of fun and a great way to trade my cards for money and/or other cards. My wife likes to call it my “jobby.”

Through it all, I have learned so much about the hobby of collecting cards that I felt that it would be cool to have a site dedicated to informing other hobbyists about the hobby. Whether it be ways of storing your collection, displaying your collection, or even selling your collection, maybe I can help you make an informed choice!
